This auction is for one pair of tail feathers from a florican bustard. Not many people have this type of feather from this bird. Nicely matched as they come from a taxidermy specimen.
History of Florican Bird:
Some Indian bustards are also called Floricans. The origin of the name is unclear. Jerdon writes in his bird of India (1862)
More Ebay Top Bidder coming....I have not been able to trace the origin of the Anglo-Indian word Florikin, but was once informed that the Little Bustard in Europe was sometimes called Flanderkin. Latham gives the word Flercher as an English name, and this, apparently, has the same origin as Florikin.—Jerdon's Birds, 2nd ed. ii. 625.

Rare Oliver M-300 Reel
Starting Bid :$9.99
Bids : 1
Winning Bid :$167.50
Description:
A very scarce reel produced by James E. Oliver, a Missouri native who moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1934. This model M300 was the predecessor to the also scarce Oliver "Flying Saucer" style Striper reel. With a 6" diameter, this all aluminum trolling reel had a very short production run while Oliver worked out of his small shop on Charles Street in South Daytona Beach, Florida. A patent was applied for in 1951 under the Florida Reel Co. for the M300 reel. An excellent condition example with one small mounting hole in the foot. A scarce reel for any advanced Florida collection or unusual reel collection. (History of the Oliver reel found in the Reel News, an ORCA publication, volume 3, issue 1, 1993)
I think This is a great buy for a lovely reel.
