Very Rare General Grant a.k.a Torpedo Hook. Patent #54,251 on April 24, 1866 by Job Johnson and Hezekiah Howarth of Brooklyn, NY, spring steel wire, designed so that when the fish struck, a spear point would release into the head. Measuring a mere 2 1/4" x 1 5/8".
This is a tough hook to be $hooked$... But it a unique hook for Spring hooks collectors.
