Very Rare Peters Line Drying Reel with Original Box. R.D. Peters was granted two reel patents, the first on Nov 18, 1918 for a line drying reel, the second on Aug 22, 1922, also for an Indiana style reel. This example, marked "Line Drying Casting Reel - Copyrighted - Patented - The Peters Bait Co. Knox, Ind" is a five arm reel with a 5 1/2" diameter. The nickel plated brass reel is in excellent condition and comes with the only known example of a Peters picture box in this configuration. A picture of the reel, mounted on a rod is displayed along with information on the reel's use. Original paperwork is also included, that while torn in places, remains a rare item. Truly a rare combination.
